Jke M .ior Harwell ( i. I )avis, Preside 11 1 DUR PRESIDENT What I Inward College is today is due principally to the efforts of her president, Major Harwell (1. Davis. When he assumed leadership of the school, a very heavy debt hung over it. Today, after seven years of hard work in which all the experience of a long and varied career, ranging from an attorney-at-law to Collector of Internal Revenue for this state, was employed, the college is free of debt and plans have been formulated for the erecting of a new and much larger campus for Howard. Still, our president is never too busy to listen to the cares and worries of the students and the various organ- izations on the campus. He once remarked. ' the stu- dents are the heart of any college, and he is truly a friend of all the students. We, the students of Howard College, will never forget -Major Davis, our beloved president.
