The success of a college depends very largely upon the number of its instructors and their scholastic preparation. As the college grows, it is our purpose to bring into the faculty an increasing number of teachers already successful in the art of instruction and in creative ability. It is our hope that the level of study and scholarship in our student body may be increasingly higher: that our students may always exercise a spirit of common honesty in their daily relations to each other and in their conduct in class and on examinationg that their lives may be guided by a spirit of gentleness and courtesyg that they may become more respon- sive to generous impulses and noble aspirations. It is our desire that Howard College may increase in educational spirit, and that it may become a place in which interests are created, evthusiasms kindled, love for truth inspired, and where learning rather than information is the goal of the teaching. joux C.
