Sam Rayburn students from all grade levels attended and were found dancing the night away. Another fun dance was on May 4, 1979, sponsored by the juniors. Many people came to this dance, which was held to raise money for their Senior prom. BUOGIE DOW The opening of Western week was celebr- ated by a Western dance, sponsored by the senior class on September 7, 1978, Disc jockey Rodger W. Garret from KRBE radio station kept the party exciting and fun. All kinds of music was played includ- ing disco and western, and the dress was western. Several teachers chaperoned the party and a few were found dancing with the students themselves. At the end of the dance, many teens went home tired, but excited with the fantastic turnout of the Western dance.
