Members adopted grandparents whom they treated during the year with parties and token gifts. HECE attended a Christmas workshop and had a Christmas party. In February they exchanged valentines with their grandparents at a Valentine luncheon. O0 DE STUDENTS EAR A WARD DE students, under the leadership of sponsor Mrs. Barbara Davis, entered the first place float in the Pasadena Rodeo Parade. In October the group partici- pated in a bowling tournament. DE stu- dents sold spirit flowers for the Pasadena game. The group attended Area Contest Feb. 2-3 where several members received awards and went to State in Fort Worth March 15-18. On April 25, DE co-sponsored Free En- terprise Day. 02 VOCT MEMBERS SER VE OTHERS Members of VOCT completed two pro- jects this year. ln December the group hosted a Christmas party for the children at Queens Day Care Center and in April they made Easter baskets for the residents at Blalock Nursing Home. Under the leadership ofsponsor Mrs. Vertie Ward, VOCT went on field trips to the Texas Employment Commis- sion, the Pasadena Police Station, and the News Citizen. At Area X Contest in Spring, Texas Feb. 3, members Carmen Trevino and Delia Almendariz won first place in Chapter Display. Carmen went on to compete at State May 11-12 in Galveston. X C 3 O -.
