,, ,S s , ,- g, .wg s ,fp smfsue W junior Historian Homer Chang assists 78 year old students in filling out voter registration cards. 292 HISTORY CLUB STA YS ACTIVE Members of the lunior Historians were responsible for the registration of eligible student voters at the beginning of the school year. The group traveled to Galveston's Lone Star Theater to see a historical play in September and took a cande-light tour of the homes in Sam Houston Park in December. In lanuary the club participated in a Regional Meet in Galveston and toured The Strand. Members entered a project in the State Convention at Fort Worth April 20-21. The lunior Historians were co-sponsored by Mrs. Toni Shuman and Mrs. Elaine Sparks. KE Y MEMBERS SER VE OTHERS The Key Club demonstrated the gift of giving this year-both of time and ser- vices. Members sold apples in Septem- ber as the club's main money-making project. The Key Club helped make the Mae Smith Elementary School Halloween Carnival a success. ' BO WLING CL UB STRIKES A GAIN The bowling club bowled every Wednesday afternoon at Fairlanes under the direction of sponsor Mr, Dennis Tiechelman. At the beginning of the year the group elected as its officers Mark Scott, president, Terri Mitchell, secretary, and Liz Taute and Lorrie Price, co-treasurers.
