A compliment makes Mrs. Dianne DeLong blush. 1 LA TIN GRUUP WI CONTEST This past year the Latin club enjoyed many activities that were coordinated by Mrs. Dianne DeLong, sponsor, and the officers. They ate out at Franco's in Clear Lake. They also dined at Pon- tillio's. In February the members took part in the GulfCoast Classical Conven- tion. The climax ofthe year was a trip to Mesquite to participate in the State lunior Classical League Convention and Contest. On this trip they visited the Pompeii Exhibit in Dallas. They ended the year with a swimming party in May. Shawn Neill, lon Porter, Roni Keen and Cindy Hodgson study Latin history during a meeting. c. 'Des GERMAN CL UB HOLDS PAR TIES Mr. Malcolm Williams, new German teacher and sponsor, kept up an active German club this past year, The club gathered for socializing during Decem- ber at their Christmas party. ln lanuary they visited the Alpine House, a restaurant that serves German delights. February held the Mardi Gras. The club was especially excited about this event. On March 30 the club again visited another restaurant, the Old Munich Inn.
