SPANISH CL UB PLANS FIES TAS The Spanish Club began an active year by holding their meetings once each month. The club held a get ac- quainted party in October so the new members could socialize. ln December the Spanish club partici- pated in the international dinner hosted by the foreign language department in the cafeteria. Also in December, the members had a Christmas party highlighted by carol- ing. FRE CH CL UB H0 WS CLASS The year was a busy one for the S. R. French Club. The officers kept the club busy by planning outings to increase their knowledge of French culture. One of the trips was to a classical French restaurant in Houston. While there, the members tried various French dishes. Escargo was a popular choice. The French Club also attended the annual French symposium held in San Antonio in March. Terri Lee won first place prose interpretation and fourth place dramatic solo. Mary Beth Alsdorf won honorable mention on her trumpet solo by a French composer. 'Des GERMAN CL UB HOLDS PAR TIES Mr. Malcolm Williams, new German teacher and sponsor, kept up an active German club this past year, The club gathered for socializing during Decem- ber at their Christmas party. ln lanuary they visited the Alpine House, a restaurant that serves German delights. February held the Mardi Gras. The club was especially excited about this event. On March 30 the club again visited another restaurant, the Old Munich Inn.
