T EXANS HA VE A MEAN DEFENSE The Texan Football Team had an awesome defense. This defense was special even though at the beginning of district play it was supposed to be the Texan weak point. The fine coaching staff put together the NUMBER ONE defense in the entire district. The teams ground shaking tackles and the game winning goal line stands made the Tex- ans NUMBER ONE. Their quick, hard defensive ends were led by Kirk Freytag, jerry Kendell, and Troy Stockdale. Mike Sills handled the noseguard position. The big, mean, and ugly tackles were Steve Pratt, Mark Barker, lulius Sloterdi- jk, and Steve Becker, The head-cracking linebacker crew was led by Tommy Mc- Clintock, Danny Niederhofer, Keith Williamson, Dennis Redd, The graceful ball stealing secondary had field days picking off quarterbacks passes. These ball hogs were Keith Pace, Roger lor- dan, Marty Campbell, Toby Meyers, and Keith Davis, This defense left many of their opponents lame and discouraged.
