'.y1.l?H.3,' QARN g During the summer of 1978 plans for maior construction went under way at Sam Rayburn. A new room was added for THE STATESMAN and SPEAKER staffs, along with several rooms for photography. The band hall was made much larger and better as well as the kitchen in which air-conditioning was installed. Two new gyms went up along with a new coaches' office and new training rooms for girls and boys. One of the major sections of construction was the Special Education wing which will be there for approximately 150 high school Special Ed. students. All con- struction should be completely finished by the middle of 1979 in time for the new school year. 15
