Events Quality of Life Entertains, Informs SHSU in February Offering a variety of information, entertainment, and thought-provoking seminars, the annual Quality of Life Con- ference took place on February 27 and 28. Featured were lectures and seminars ranging from ‘‘Subli- minal Seduction in Advertising,”’ to ‘‘Smoking: What's It All About,’’ to ‘‘Space Settlements and Solar Power from Satel- lite Sau Two main attractions were speeches by Detective David Toma and newspaper columnist Lynn Ashby. Both drew crowds of over 300 people. (A) Students listened to speakers at the Conference on Marijuana. (B) Lynn Ashby told listeners of the trials and tribulations of journalism work. (C) Dr. George Beadle talked about ‘‘The Mystery of Maize.”’ (D) David Toma spoke with emotion on relationships and peoples’ lack of love and concern for one another.
