UF Drive a Success Contributions of $3,700 were col- lected through the Sept. 27 United Fund Telethon sponsored by the cam- pus television station, Cable Channel 7. Money was donated on the streets from passing motorists, by pledges called into the TV station and through a Salathon with auctioned items. Social Society of Independents col- lected the most money as an organiza- tion, with a total of $1,000. 18 Life Events Traditions Alive for Halloween Halloween was celebrated with dorm costume parties, a haunted house, and the LSC Halloween Happening. The LSC sponsored event took place on Oct. 28, featuring apple-bob- bing, pumpkin carving, costume judging, and a variety of booths. (A) Government Professor John Holcomb serves as a target for a booth at the Halloween Happening. (B) A student creates his own version of the Great Pumpkin. (C) A Halloween Happening contestant receives last-minute adjustments to his costume.

Events Art Commotion Is Expression Through Dance Dancers expressed varied themes and moods in the Art Commotion Dance Concert. Types of dances ranged from interpretive, ballet-like, to a 50’s Rock- Around- The Clock dance. The concert which took place May 5, 7, and 8, played to enthusiastic crowds. (A) Dancers captured the audience's attention with dramatic move- ments. (B) Patty Haselbarth rocked and rolled in the 50's dance. 20 Life
