3 EEE 1 Sam Houston State Teacliers Gollege Huntsville, Texas DFI'-'ICE DF THE PRESIDENT Dear Students: As you turn through the pages of this Alcalde in the future years, I hope you will recall many pleasant memories of the 1959-60 school year. This has been an eventful year. To the seniors who have been on our campus for the past four years, you have seen many changes made. Gur enrollment has increased by more than a thousand students in that length of time. To take care of these students, we have built many new dormitories and classroom build- ings. To you who will be returning next year, I am sure you will see many more changes made. We feel sure that Sam Houston will continue to grow. Although we have more than four thousand students on our campus, I am very proud of the fact that a friendly atmosphere prevails among the students and faculty members. Students living and working together in dormitories, sororities and fraternities develop close ties which will remain forever. We are in truth one great family.
