BSS GF ia SHERMAN-Coach Something has already been said about his worth to the school, The school 's regard and appreciation were shown when two years ago he was prevailed upon to take the positon as Track Coach. This was a broadening of his sphere of influence, that might carry farther the work that he had started. Regardless, however, of his reputation as a Basketball Coach, he has already won a great respect from those that follow the cinders closely, and it is only a matter of time until his rep- utation in that is established also. QW While the heroes of football, basketball, and track, if there are any, shine from year to year, there are a few in Sam Houston that fight silently yet convincingly, for the glory of the school. So far they have fought their battles alone, which makes their victories all the more deserving of recognition. These silent workers are a few boys that are getting an early start in the old man's game of golf. Outstanding among the few are Enoch Johnston and Melvin Lee. By beating both Reagan and San Jacinto in a City High School tournament held at Her- mann Park late in March these boys won glory for themselves and added another loving cup to Central's collection. Though now they are not recognized as much as some of the boys of other sports, in the years to come Melvin and Enoch are sure to be heard of in the sport world.
