ALEXANDER-Forward just why he was out of the cradle and on the floor playing basketball, no one knowsg but he was there, as his opponents soon found out, to their sorrow, and his favorite play was to drop the ball through the goal from the most difficult angles of the court. He also enjoyed drib- bling or running half circles around opponents of nearly twice his size. CARLI SLE-Guard On through the basketball season '4Chili', continues to be a hero both in basketball and to the fair damsels of Central. Whether this is an asset is not known but his good playing and good looks attracted to the games many spectators who otherwise would not have gone. He was a guard and this shows why he always looked out for himself before anyone else. FULLER-Guard Binks is the man that proves beyond a doubt that size is not the only thing in sports, for in his case, ambi- tion, fight and determination overcame even that. Binks had all three and on that combination, he rode through the basketball season to one of the few letters in the major sports at Central. 05

w ma Q SHERMAN-Coach Sherman is also an invisible leader, that quietly takes his men out to practice and comes back with a basketball team and a changed bunch of boys. For fourteen years he has worked for the glory of the school, and during this time he established a record as being one of the best coaches in the state. The name is well deserved for each year his teams have given great accounts of them- selves, and many of his men have shone in college. It is hoped that the influence of Mr, Sherman will long be felt from the court and room 127. DICKEY-Guam'-Captain Red likes all sports but his favorite is basketball. In this pastime he was captain and a repersentative of Central on the all city five. His bow legs have been mentioned as one reason for his great guarding. They are a great advantage to him for they cover a large amount of territoryg yet not enough to leave an ungarded space between. SEEDS

ESE GW GRANT-Forward Jimmie was quite a contrast to H-Iakiei' in size, but this did not bother him in being able to take care of his side of the court. He did have a hard job in trying to shine next to his brilliant running mate, but he acquitted himself well. If you believe otherwise, for which there is no cause, watch him next year when he really will come into his own. MQORE-Center Of high altitude, Mark is a typical character for a basket ball player. He is always quiet of nature, a char- acteristic which made him a valuable man on the team, for at the most unexpected moments to his opponents, he would slip down under the goal to drop in the CripH shots that are the delight of any coach. MURPHY-Center Murphy, of the Tiger team, is a sight to behold. VVhen this member entered a game he got his Persian-Maybe it's Irish-blood in the wrong veins and he even surprised himself by really getting around the Hoor to an advantage. He and Chili, as far as looks and form are concerned, compose the drawing cards of the team. :see el
