exans Show Sam Spirit Alwags I Do you mean it starts at 9:15 instead of 8:15? Pep rally times were varied several times to encourage student participation. Cheerleaders and bellguards worked throughout the week to prepare a spirit-filled 45 minutes. Captain's Songs, Players of the Week, and skits were all part of the finished product. It was not unusual seeing Coach Tommy Cantrell, as the Grinch Who Stole Homecoming, or Uncle Bud with pie on his suit. Seniors dominated spirit-stick competition most Fridays. Proud Texans closed each session with the stirring alma mater. QAJ Mrs. Barbara Anderson and Mrs. Jean Kevil lead the Foreign Language Club in hopes of winning the spirit stick. CBJ Bell- guards Kay Goodenough and Leslie Wal- ters lead Texan fans in a cheer. QCD Big Sam Texans gather for a courtyard pep ralg to cheer on their football team. hue. Student Life
