Rain hinders crowning of Dino as new queen Rain! Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened October 15 - Homecoming. The downpour continued throughout the game so that the halftime activities were washed out. But the rain did not seem to dampen the excitement of the announcement of the queen, Tex-Anne captain, Dino Reed. All was not cancelled for Dino, however. She was given her crown, roses, and a kiss from Congress president Gerald McMillan who found her as the announcement was made. Dino's official presentation was November 5 at the LHS game. The other seven finalists were Brenda Garcia, sponsored by Newcomers Club, Julie Hyden, backed by the Foreign A fAJ Finalists Amy Schrickel, Cathy Hhue, Julie Hyden, and Brenda Garcia are presented along with Dino during the belated ceremony. iBj In her excitement, Dino almost loses her crown on the big night. Cherokee FHA chose Amy Schrickel as its candidate, while Pam Warters was the Science Club's hopeful. Leigh Anne Willis was supported by the Mighty Texan Band, and CVAE elected Mary Wilson as its finalist.
