A FLC divided and elected officers in the first meeting of the year. Members enjoyed a Christmas party at Mary Ann Winters' home where they sang carols and exchanged gifts. The annual picnic was held in the spring at Randol Mill Park. Foreign Language students had a chance to experience a variety of foods from different countries at the annual tasting bee on March 12. It was held at the Dudley Circle Club Room. Club presidents were Sherrie Phillips, Lating Bobbi Mullins, Frenchg Jan Bunch, Spanishg and Tina Brown for German Club. HS Helps Welcome Exes Back to Sam A reception for the exes was given by the National Honor Society as their part in the Homecoming activities. The club's nominee, Carol McCants, was named Homecoming queen. As a gesture on Teachers' Appreciation Day, NHS served refreshments to the faculty. The club also had a hay ride party, and on February 28 a breakfast was given for all the new senior members of NHS. In April the NHS held their induction for all new members. One hundred pupils qualified. Twice during the year the club sold Tootsie Roll Pops for funds. CAD Officers Carol McCants, Debbie Terry, Richard Colleoni, Susan Williamson, and Lisa Camp write invitations for the induction.
