VARSITY WRESTLING Varsity Season S ujers Two Wrestlers Make S tate The wrestling program took a turn for the best this year as Barlow finally brought wrestlers to the state meet. Harvey Meyer and Rick Thompson both earned the right to go to the event in Corvallis, with Harvey bringing home a second place medal at the 156 weight class and Thompson gaining sixth at 115 lbs. It was a good season as far as individuals excelling, said coach Tony Cutsforth as he reflected back on the season. This season got us up over the hill and established that we have people good enough to go to the all-state level. lt seems to be important in a program such as this one to establish itself through individuals first and then the team will not be lightly regarded. Duel-meet wise, we were not the best, but lack of numbers hurt us and lessened our chances of having a winning sea- son. The turnout this year was fair but compared to the standards of other schools, fair was just not good enough. But in light of the good things that did come about, this season will be a pattern to follow.
