BEARDOWN WEEK Juniors Recreate Childhood Past. A junior-sponsored Beardown Week recreated the past and allowed students to relive many childhood memories. The halls were filled with anticipation as classes and many clubs sponsored activities that promoted unity throughout the school. There was a tricycle race where a student, Norm Shively, peddlecl slowly to the finish line and victory. The journalism department sponsored an old time film festival on Thursday featuring the best of Frankenstein and Dracula, while the junior class floated happily away with the sales from the helium balloons. At the coronation assembly on Monday, Tally Taylor was crowned queen, and she reigned throughout the week. Princess Judy Diebel At the pep assembly on Friday, jars of jelly- beans crashed to the floor adding a touch of humor to an already great week. That night, the mighty Bruin Basketball team victoriously stomped The Dalles Indians, and afterwards celebrated with a dance featuring Brothers and Friends , making the 1972-73 Beardown Week one to remember. It was not a profit- making one, but it left the students with a feeling of unity, and many memories to cherish. . . proving that You're only Young Once. The Bruin Bear smiles ferociously at anyone whg passes through its door.
