v Still ot Much Action . vi :: Z ,WZ With a score of new members, much talk, and many meetings, it appeared that the Sam Barlow Chapter of the National Honor Society might surpass its usual quota of one l activity per year. Q However, with the banquet to plan for, 1 poor attendance at meetings, etc., most of the more ambitious members' glorious plans never advanced any further than that. Newly elected president Randy Alcorn stated that next year the club will endeaver with a certain subject that an N.H.S. mem- 1 ber excells in. Since N.H.S. is primarily a ' service club, junior members plan to initi- ate activities that they and the community can benefit from. This year's banquet proved to be a suc- cess. Homemakers Hustle The Future Homemakers of America, ad- vised by Miss Linda Stanwood remained the same active group that they have continually proved themselves to be. October 31, three girls traveled to the dis- trict meeting at Milwaukie High School and garnered two out of three awards for best chapter scrapbook and best nametag. Soon after, the girls made and presented flowers to the elderly folks at Mt. View rest home. One of the big events of the year was the buf- fet style banquet, held December 15, where the members invited and fed their families. The F.H.A.ers' last big project was an F.H.A. week, March 29-April 2. 71 F F' 3 I. F.H.A. members include: ROW l: Terri Foster, Akina Salle, Elizabeth Lovell, Mary Ellen, Roberta Renfro, ROW 2: Shannon Wells, Margie Chipula, Cynthia Page, Sally Lovell, Arlene Eichner. 2. Club members Tracy Coon, Diane Yamashita and Becky Rasmussen lend a hand in serving refreshments. 3. Club president Laurie Lane sits in the midst of a busy meeting.
