Six Points, Season of Frustration A small team and lack of depth told the story of Barlow's '70 Varsity Football Z'-l team. The squad showed great teamwork and desire in the early minutes of sever- 'QP al of the games. For the most part, however, Barlow's moments of glory were O' short-lived. ln the first half of the game Barlow fans saw their team hold its own QQ against Clackamas, though the Bruins were finally defeated 14-0. The Bruin's lone touchdown came against Putnam in the second game of the season. The en- thusiasm generated early in the year was renewed at the Gresham game. As they often did, the Bruinls spirited squad took control in the first few minutes of the game. The tide soon turned, however, and Barlow ended up on the lower end of a 28-0 score. Overall, though, the team showed great pride and desire in the game, and it was one of their best efforts of the season. Even though the season ended up with several big defeats, the '70 Bruin football squad showed a spirit that was a great inspiration and encouragement to the students of Barlow. l.
