MADGE .IELINEK-AUDREY SANDAHL PATTI MCCONNELL -- N :5 X gt 1 Often ignored by the students, the non-profes- sional members of the staff were, nevertheless, im- portant in running Sam Barlow. Kay Larie not only visited health classes, investi- gated illnesses and absentees but also functioned in accidents. The custodians put their efforts into re- pairing and cleaning the building, now in its third year. The cooks turned to the stomachs of the stu- dents and developed the breakfast program. Equal- ly behind the scenes was the secretarial staff that answered phones and correspondence, made an- nouncements, took care of the student and school bookkeeping, kept track of teacher and student at- tendance, and dispursed school supplies. Finally, the bus drivers made sure that the students were brought to school and returned home in ice and snow. Although classified as non-professional, these people were really pro's. 4. Barlow's incredible cooks: Qlcftj Mrs. Derrick, Dorothy Ca- rolson, Lillian Carpenter, frightj Evelyn Roberts, Delores Hart- ley, Rachel Tacker, Bonnie Henneman. 5. Barlow's industri- ous custodians: Ed Swan, Bud Nolan, Ferd Milton, Howard Far- less, Herbert Gailey, Ed Britt, Ruff Poppleton, Bill Wishon. 6. Barlow's patient and prompt bus drivers: lback rowj Rich Kih- bons, Bill Kaufman, Val Shaull.
