e cnanging Jail Listen . . . With faint dry sound Like steps of passing ghosts The leaves, frost-crisped Break from the trees And fall. Spring The austerity of winter dwindles now, Green Leaf buds bulge and yellow catkins bloom There can be no one unaware of how The earth puts by the liturgy of gloom, For the heart-waking utterance of spring. Winter On turf and curb and bower-roof The snow-storm spreads its wary woof; It paves with pearl the garden walk, And lovingly round tattered stalk And shivering stem its magic weaves, A mantle fair as lily-leaves. Seniors The Lord is thy guardian; He is beside thee at thy right hand, The sun shall not harm thee by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord will guard thee from all evil. He will guard thy life. The Lord will guard thy coming and thy going Both now and forever.
