I was sittin by the fireside Thinking 0? the days gone by, Reliving memories of glood times In dear old Saluda Hig One by one the visions came In a clear and wondrous light, And I saw each one in my class In the glowing fire that night. Betty Hooker is a teacher And at home a doctor's wife, She is happy and contented And enjoys her busy life. Martha Taylor is an actress Loud are praises of her fame, She just took a daring trip To far off China in her plane. Wig Hardy is an astronomer Studying! about the stars, , And ma ing final 'preparations For a rocket trip to Mars. Cecil Tyree is in Africa Land of mystery and voodoo, He works for Sutper Circus Catching lions or their zoo. Ronnie Bell came next in sight He was dressed in Navy Blue, One of Uncle Sam's Blue Angles His life ambition coming true. Norma Wills is in Florida Married to a millionaire, She met him at Daytona Beach On our school trip there. Zelma and George Schirmer Have a dude ranch out west, A place for tired teachers To go for a needed rest. Gene Warmen is a cop Special agent for F. B. I. , He and Doris still live close To our dear old Saluda High. Mary Rowlett is a lady vet Running a boarding house for cats, Private rooms , the sign says Fresh milk served with all rats . Judy Taylor is in T. V. Working on the Jack Webb show, I felt no surprise at that We knew she had talent, long ago. Patty Colbert's an N. B. C. model On the popular Hal March show, You've seen her many times Modeling Revlons new pink glow . Willie Henderson, a deep sea diver Searches for old spanish gold, He roams about the ocean floor Among old wrecks, I've been told. Jim Davis captains a whaling ship His tale is always told, With icebergs floating, all about He is both brave and old. Alice Butler is a housewife ' Her married name I do not know, ' But one thing I do remember She fell for a guy named Joe , Sherry Stoner is a bookkeeper For Captain Donnie's fishing fleet, They are wealthy and contented A life like that is hard to beat. . Lawrence Rudolph, a famous artist Strolls about in high top hats, He makes more money than a designer Buying and selling old floor mats. Janis Gabbard ownes a nightclub She and Ralph are partners in it, , I notice now the firelight dims I fear I've dozed a minute.
