CLASS SONG: There's No Stopping Us by Oily and Jerry The class of 85 entered Saltsburg High School apprehensive, but excited. The school represented a new world to all of us. By eighth grade we had some confidence and were becoming a part of life at Saltsburg High. It was the first year we were able to participate in any activities. As Freshmen we elected class officers for the first time. Our biggest responsibility was to sponsor the 1982 Sweater Hop. The theme was Love Lasts Forever and the theme song was Endless Love. We were proud to be a part of the school during a year in which Saltsburg was county football, basketball, cheering, and softball champions. In our Sophomore year, we had many choices to make. Many of us chose to take the academic or business courses. Others chose to go to Vo-Tech. Another choice was deciding on a class ring. Our Junior year was very special. It was the last year for the old school. It was even more special to us, because we had the privilege of preparing for the Junior-Senior Prom. We used A Night in Heaven as our theme and Heaven by Bryan Adams as our theme song. Finally our senior year brought many changes. The greatest change was entering the new high school. We have learned how to deal with problems and how to cope with difficult situations. But maybe the most important thing we have learned is how to deal with change. Also, we were given the responsibility of setting new traditions and instilling a sense of pride in the new Saltsburg High School. As the time draws near, each event becomes an unforgettable memory, from the first day of high school to the last exam. Seniors realize that the world is theirs and the future is now. 21
