Cindric P. Bohovich, D. Dulce, E. Good, stuoent COLll1Cll Besides taking care of school problems, this year the Student Council inaugurated a new idea for collecting money for worthy organizations. Instead of having six indi- vidual fund drives, they sponsored a United Fund Drive and divided the money collected equally among the Red Cross, stuoent The Student Patrol performs many small but important tasks. One of these is setting up a road block around the school to pre- vent any cars from using those streets during the noon recess. They also see that the flag is raised in the morning and T.B., Polio, Heart, Crippled Children, and Cancer funds. The president, Ronald Mancabelli, was responsible for the introduction and the closing words of the various assemblies held throughout the year. patnol lowered in the evening. Clawson, D.Grosklos. futune nunses of amemca This newly organized club which meets twice a month is under the supervision of our school nurse, Miss Wetzel. The purpose of the club is to interest students in personal and community health and help them decide wisely about professional and practical nursing as TEACHERS' Students taking Typing ll receive office practice by doing secretarial work for teachers. These sec- retaries were chosen last year and assigned to in- dividual teachers at the beginning of this year. Duties consist of typing tests and letters and generally assisting the teachers. Throughout the school year the members saw several good movies about nursing, went on a tour of a hospital, had speakers present at their meetings, and watched demonstrations by Miss Wetzel. Each member received a pin with the F.N.A. insignia. SGCRGIARIG all six weeks tests have to meet their deadline. The teacher's secretaries are not only a great help to the teachers but they also receive assorted knowledge and valuable experience in the different phases of secretarial work. ' liutune lianmens of amemca The F.F.A. motto is Learning to do and doing to learn . Following this rule, the boys undertook several projects. They were quite successful in their selling of garden seeds and onions, through which they profited 5l50.00. During the Annual F.F.A. Week at Penn State, John Zona judged poultry, Frank Rehok judged livestock, and Nick Mendaloff judged dairy products. After earning 500 points each, Frank Rehok and Robert Vought received traditional blue and gold F.F.A. jackets. Thirteen members were formally initiated. I:UTZL1l2G l1Om makens of A ERICA This year's homemaker and service club lF.H.A.j was sponsored by Mrs. Joanne Cox. Some of the many pro- jects of the year were making blankets and food baskets for the needy, buying UNESCO stamps, and selling Christmas cards. Memorable times include the Sadie Hawkins' Dance, the annual spaghetti dinner, lectures on good grooming, and the candlelight service in which the new officers were installed. The club leaders were President-J. Mclntyre, Vice- President-A. Auen, Secretary-N. Faber, Treasurer-K. Lanham, Chaplin-B. Quick, Salt Shaker Reporter and Chairman of all Committees-G.
