FOREWORD The class of 1954 has the privilege of making another edition of the La Saltianna a success. The class has strived to keep up the high standards that have been set before them. Although there have been many difficulties encountered during the publication of the yearbook, the staff, with the cooperation of the student body, supplied the initiative and leadership which was necessary to carry the publication to completion. Hie class has endeavored to make the 1953-54 school year a success in every way possible. Grateful appreciation is extended to our teachers for the guidance they have given us and for the patience they have displayed in helping the class to be self reliant and understanding toward others. In spiteof the fact that Saltsburg Joint High School is a small school, the class feels that its memories and teachings will always be big. CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION 9 1

The yearbook staff under the supervision of Miss Adornato has done a commendable job this year. Miss Adornato has devoted much of her time and talent to producing this year’s book, and she received the cooperation of the class through the leadership of Arlene Auen, year-DDEAS book editor. The advice and labor which has gone into this year’s copy of the La Saltianna would be too much to measure in one short paragraph; therefore, the staff extends it sincere thanks to Miss Adornato and Arlene Auen for guiding and directing the production of the class record.
