clam msTCLy AS WE SENIORS OF 1948 DEPART It was upon entering Saltsburg High School in the fall of 1944. that our experiences as high school students began. Reluctantly we took our place among other students and began our higher education. Albert Heifer was chosen class president and Miss Kohlhepp was our class advisor. It was during this year we received our official initiation making us regular members. We held the annual Sweater Hop which proved to lx? very successful. Then the anxiously awaited end. of our green year arrived and we disbanded. We returned the following September of i 45 to bear the title of sophisticated Sophomores. Proud of our new title, we planned to do wondrous things in order to live up to it. This year Esther Faas was chosen leader. Our advisors varied, beginning with Mrs. Lewis and ending with Mr. Nelmes. During this year we held several dances and ordered our class rings. Like all good things, this year came to an end. After three months vacation we again returned Sept. 3, 1946 to begin our very important Junior year. Donald Walter was chosen class president and Miss Cristy our advisor. The momentous event of this year was the magnificent Junior-Senior From. There were many other activities, including the class play “One Mad Night” and several ilances. After a remarkable year high-lighted by many important events, we made ready for another vacation. Again we returned to school, this to be the last time, for this was our year of graduation. Donald Walter was re-elected as president and Miss Kohlhepp was once again our class advisor. This year was filled with scads of activities. We luul a Holiday Ball, a successful class play, several other dances, plus our graduation exercises. Now, we are making preparations to leave Saltsburg High School, assured of capability in our future problems. During these four years in high school we have gained vast stores of knowledge, we have acquired the needed amount of intelligence through the generosity and environment of the school. Now, after four years of high school filled with joys, triumphs, happiness, mingled with little disappointments and let-downs we must take our leave no matter how reluctantly it is done. We must now exhibit our accomplishments in jobs or work that we choose. We, the class of ioi9 the graduating class, prepare to leave.
