Bishops Guide Salpointe Successfully Through First Decade Bishop Francis J Green was one of the fortunate Tucsonuans who had a private audience with Pope John XXIII last summer Has Holiness sent back the Papal blessing with Bishop Green As Auxiliary Bishop of Tucson Bishop Green has worked with Bishop Gercke to foster Catholic education on the high school level His kindness and encouragement are greatly appreciated by all of us at Salpointe I Bishop Daniel J Gercke sowed the very first seeds of Sal pointes existence It was his efforts that began the first step in the long process that transformed the vision of a Catholic institution for secondary education into the present Salpointe High School lt has been his zeal his warm interest that have nurtured Salpointes growth through ten years of progress To our beloved Bishop we here at Sal pointe give our deepest thanks ,s .
