X X 1 Lx This, the 1966 Odyssey, is dedicated to the people who, over the past decade, have served as members of the Board of Education of the Northern Yuma County Union High School District. In their payless, often thankless service, they have seen to the building, staffing and operation of our school. We hope this may in some small way make them aware that their efforts have been appreciated. Past Board Members Dorothy Anderson A.E. Archer Troy Blanton Donovan R. Bottorff OB. My only wish is that you enjoy it more each time you look through it. I want to thank my hard-working staff, our advisor and the many others who used their own time to help complete our 1966 ODYSSEY. Pri n ci a 's p I Message The dedication of this year's annual to the Board of Education is to be applauded. Let each reader of the book pause to reflect for a moment upon the long hours of work given by these people over the years that our school and its operation might be possible. This is your everloving big daddy'o, conscience projecting 10 years into your future and digging you squares to see if you still gyrate to Beattle music. There's Farr, but yet so near with tha.t's what's up front that counts look. There's that prettiest cattle queen, Myra, riding a gold plated jeep with her Winston smoking foreman at the wheel, heading for a champaignepool at her Apartment House of the Desert out Wenden way. Man, what a racket from that Quartzite ranch,-must be a real swinging ball! Nope, only old Everett complimenting his wife on her biscuits. Duck, wow, what a pair of kooky pilots. Oh, I see Orley and Randy still arguing over who gets in the basketball's free throw area for 3 seconds. What's that over by the Big Q? -- the Elementary School? Nope, it's Carole McCauley's residence. The little old woman in a Quartzsite shoe. Paper work and what a mess! --laughter, giggles, and fouled up ordersg Anchors to the Air Force, back- packs to the Navy, and Submarines to the Marines. --That's Jackie at the head of the Military Logistic Service Look at that little guy down there beating that little white ball all over that field and making those two little boys chase it while he rides. Hey, that's Crazy Legs Craig, the Dick Wick Hall Pro. Reading my Denver Post, I see an article for Women's Apparel as illustrated by the internationally re- nowned artist, Susan Sparks. Early to bed and early to rise sure opens a young girl's eyes after marriage. There's Elaine rushing her three kids off to school, Bill off to work. and putting the all-automatic housewife to work as she takes off to operate her beauty culture school. Hey, I could have sworn I saw a Raven go into Mr. Charman's window. No, it's just Pablo. He couldn't find Mr. Wease for his keys so he could get the socks for the team. Senior Will I, RANDY MICHELS , beinglof sound mind! !, will my basketball suit to Becky Reese and my curly hair to Mr. Craig. I, JACKIE WALTERS, hereby will my ability to always get into trouble and to laugh even during hard times. to any poor person who is worse off than I. I, ELAINE SWEETLAND , will my ability to finish school to all high-school dropouts. I, ORLEY DOLLAR, being of sound mind and body, will my height to Charley Craig and Ronnie Dearinger. I, CAROLE MC CAULEY, being of sound mind and body, will all my empty hair spray cans to Mr. Craig. I, BILL FARR, being of unsound mind and body, will Mr. Craig all of my clippings after a haircut. I, MYRA HAROLD , will my ability to walk on the grass and get away with it to Alice Anglin and my smile to Robin Grumbles. I SUSAN SPARKS, being of sound mind UQ will my intense dislike for school to my sister, -not that she need it. I, EVERETT COWELL, being of sound mind and body, will my great sense of humor to Mrs. Ross and Miss Gallardo. I, WILLIAM C. CRAIG, being of sound mind and body, do bequeath my knee braces to my brother, Charles David, and my ability to make friends to anyone who thinks he or she, has too many. I, PABLO FALCON, JR. , being of sound mind and body, will all my abilities to anyone who can type this will without any mistakes.
