Few students have left our school during Mr. Welch's long tenure in the Salmon School System who have not in some measure been benefited by his teaching, his guidance, or his coaching. Coming to Salmon originally as a coach and teacher, Mr. Welch produced an enviable record in the field of athletics inspiring many to become accomplished in sports. In his class- room his students were subiected equally to a combination of a thorough appreciation of the subject matter and to his rare sense of humor. Now serving in the role of principal, Mr. Welch is doing much to correctly guide the destinies of the future citizens of this community. We of the Annual Staff extend our best wishes to Mr. Welch for many years to come and hope he may continue to act as an inspiration. 2

's Message In the spring of 1957 Mr. Earl Williams left Eden, ldaho school system to become the new superintendent of the Salmon Public Schools. At the completion of his first year Mr. Williams had this to say: A school is no better than the students make it. I feel sure with the pupils we have that Salmon High School will be the greatest.
