PROPHECY It was a cold snappy fall mornmg 1n the year of 1959 as Mr Damels suddenly leaped up from h1s work table 1n the Sc1ence Room dashed down the hall toward the assembly then back to the sta1rs slxd down the bamster darted around the corner and rushed mto the Manual Tra1n1ng Room Here he found Mr Hungerford and qmckly lnformed h1m to take over h1s Job for a week or so as he had to leave lmmedmately on lmportant bus1ness What 1n the world 15 the matter? Has Mr Dan1els lost h1s m1nd'P Why no Wxth the help of h1s General Sc1ence Class he has Just perfected a rnlmature comb1nat1on two way radlo and telev1s1on set d1sgu1sed as a t1e p1n and IS now rushmg to Washxngton D C to secure a patent on lt Carefully conceahng h1s 1nvent1on ln the 1ns1de pocket of h1s overcoat he Jumped mto h1s new 1960 Atom mob11e the latest model car that IS run by atom1c power As he was cruxslng along at about a hundred mmles an hour he was suddenly s1desw1ped by a young lady dnvmg a b1g new automob11e when she tr1ed to pass h1m on the wrong s1de of the road Both cars stopped and the young lady came back to see what damage had been done Why what do you know? The young lady was Mary Anne Schopp who was tak1ng her dog .Toe for a r1de One fender was badly dented so Mr Damels stopped at a garage 1n the next town to have xt f1xed Whlle he was waxtmg he kept watchmg a mechanlc who had Just flmshed overhaul1ng a car and seemed to have one p1ece left over Fmally xt dawned on Mr Damels that the mechamc was one of hxs Semor graduates of 49 Stanley L1lly who was now propr1etor of the Don t .Tunk em We F1x em Auto Company seemed that there was always somethmg to slow h1m down A herd of cattle was cross 1ng the road so he had to stop He 1mmed1ately recogmzed the farmer who was drwmg the cattle as Pat Mulv1h1ll who owned a f1Ve hundred acre farm and was mdeed domg very well When Mr Damels stopped for a lunch he went mto a small restaurant and who d1d he see s1tt1ng 1n the corner booth but Mr and Mrs Lawrence Beauchene Betty told h1m that she and Larry had been marrxed nearly e1ght years What t1me she 1sn t at home dolng her housework and tak1ng care of l1ttle Larry Jr she goes w1th Larry to sell sparkhng sudsy dudsy bubble bath w1th that super sensatxonal sweet fragrance Some t1me later as Mr Dan1els was dr1v1ng through Ch1cago he saw a tall handsome sa1lor who looked very fam1l1ar commg down the street It was D1ck Mogensen w1th a beaut1ful blonde on one arm and a gorgeous redhead on the other It looks l1ke Dxck not only has one g1rl xn every port but two After a couple days dr1v1ng Mr Dan1els arr1ved 1n Wash1ngton D C and went to the patent offzce The off1ce glrl told h1m to go nght on 1n but lt seemed that he had interrupted somethmg As he walked 1n the door he saw that one of h1s off1ce g1rls had made good because there was Jo Ann Dunn a lovely peroxlde blonde s1tt1ng on her bosses lap tak1ng d1ctat1on He rece1ved the patent on h1s 1nvent1on and scurrxed over to obtam some advertlse ment 1n the Washlngton Newslest Newsy Newspaper pub11shed by the nosey newsy newspaper know xt alls He was sent 1nto the manager s offxce of the advertxsement depart ment and was very surpr1sed to fxnd that the manager of the art department was Allena Mae Carroll Not only dld Mr Dan1els rece1ve a patent on h1s 1nvent1on and get advertxsernent for lt but he had the satmsfactxon of see1ng what h1s Semor Class of 49 was do1ng 1 , . . , . . . . .
