At six o’clock everyone went into the dining hall for a buffet dinner where approximately three hundred people were served. The dinner was followed by a student program of entertainment and a speech by Mrs. Mary L. Nock on “STC’s Future. Then Dr. Black- well showed films which he took i his summer trip to Europe. The next event was the dance 1 in the dining hall, where r one seemed to have a good dancing to the orchestra of Arthur Kretz and wondering about the mysterious figure on the bal¬ cony. The Maggsmen coasted to a 2 to 1 victory. This was a morale builder since this was the first time the squad had worked to¬ gether against organized opposi¬ tion. The regular soccer schedule got under way against the soccer squad from Frostburg. The Gulls met the Western Shore representa¬ tives at Towson. A1 Younger scored the first tally early in the second quarter with a driving penalty shot. Then Ralph Dryden, a wing, converted halfback, scored late in the same quarter with a field goal. Thus, the first hurdle in the stretch toward an undefeated sea¬ son was met and passed by a 2 to 0, final score. Next on the list was the tradi¬ tional game against the Alumni.
