Four 5 f38's and two gun-fire control systems require a high level of technical skill, along with a relentless exertion of elbow grease. To keep the cannons in top battle readiness, the men daily check almost every part of the gun mounts, radars by conducting transmission and other checks. Air Defense, General Quarters and most of all, firing exercises, are the true tests of Fox Divisions' c abilities and efficiencf. These frequent drills LTJG E. T. ALLEN Division Officer 2113 3 require vast amounts of experience and knowledge, there is no room for error. Fire Control Technicians and Gunner's Mates are constantly watching for safety violations, and stand ready to perform the hazardous duty of clearing hangfires . Always ready, alert and available! Fox Division can be relied upon. That's why it's one of the best divisions on the ship. 42mm G Division, under the supervision ofthe aviation ordnance officer, is responsible for procurement, stowage, assembly and testing of all airborne ordnance weapons. Whenever the occasion arises, we are ready to supply the squadrons with technical publications, spare parts and support equipment, LE. hoists, testers, slings, etc. G Division also has top notch Loading Crews , which are responsible for the testing of AXC armament systems, plus loading of all airborne weapons. nenahn, J.
