THE ECHO 11 MARY ELIZABETH ARCHIE “To see her is to love her.” Entered 1919; Latin Course; Vice President Girls’ Club 1921-1922; Pres¬ ident Girls Club 1922-1923; Girls’ Athletic Association; French Club; Debating Society 1920. Elizabeth is an all around student and a very popular girl. She works haid, plays hard and spends the rest of her time talking hard. VIRGINIA V. BARKER “Who relished a joke and rejoiced in a pun. Rare compound of oddity, frolic and fun.” Entered T8; Latin Course; Girls’ Club; French Club. Virginia on account of living such a long distance from school, is always absent on rainy days, but even then, when reports come she always has a smiling face—no wonder either for everything is E. ESSIE BAUCOM “Her very frowns are fairer far Than smiles of other maidens are.” Entered 1919; Latin Course; Girls’ Athletic Association; Girls Club 1920; French Club. There is only one way to know it is Essie and that is to find out that it isn’t Nessie. Essie is not only Nes- sle’s twin in looks but also in grades and disposition.
