Foreword We, the 1962 BEACON Staff, hope that this an- nual will become one of your most prized possessions and that you may look back over the faded snapshots and remember the good old days at Salisbury High School. Our high school days are filled with cherished memories. Some you remember better than others, such as that important game you wanted so much to win, your first school dance, the class parties, the thrill of being a senior, and last the wonderful feel- ing of accomplishment when the coveted diploma was placed in your hand. Salisbury High has long beena top school, known and loved by students. In more recent years, ad- miration has rapidly increased with our growing school, a school striving to attain the goal of pre- paring students to live usefully and happily in a dem- ocratic socie ty. Today, we may stand aside, and with one satisfying glance, be convinced that Salis- bury High School has reached this goal--the attain- ment of which has brought with it those very quali- ties that students yearn to claim. In later years, while turning these pages, if you should recall the many smiles, sorrows, and dreams of '62 we shall be content knowing that we have done the thing we were called upon to do.
