MR, JAMES M, BENNETT Mr. James M. Bennett former Superintendent of Schools of Wicomico County steered a course and maintained acceleration that kept the county's progress in education abreast with the modern trends in American way of living. For forty years he watched the growth of the county schools change from one room schools tocon- sOlidation and the construction of the campus type schools; Salisbury High School being one of these schools. Mr. Bennett was a great administrator. For him, the battles of overcoming opposite points of view were always well handled. He made one feel his belongingness, thereby making it a great pleasure to work with him. He was also active in local, state, and national, civic, religious and educational organizations and maintained an untiring zest until his retirement July 31, 1957.
