Senior Class History As we the class of 54 reminisce, we clearly see ourselves - there were 112 of us - journeying from various communities. Likewise, we were endeavoring to adjust ourselves to high school life and to find our place in the vast and changing world that lay before us. In spite of the many difficulties that we experienced in high school life, we worked cooperatively in all activities. Our greatest achievement during that year was the presentation of an eighth grade assembly program. Our next year was enlightened by a greater participation in major organizations which were N,H.A., patrol force, dramatics, glee club, majorettes, and varsity teams. Many had the honor of serving the juniors and seniors at their annual junior-senior prom. We began our third year by working more enthusiastically than ever before. We were then becoming more aware of the obstacles, which impeded our progress towards success. However, during our constant struggle, we found time to take part in many school activities, It was during this year that delegates from Salisbury High School attended the Job Opportunities Conference at Maryland State College, sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Members of our class took part in an athletic exhibition. We greeted our junior year with a determination to work even harder than the year before. The customary Jnior-Senior Prom was a highlight during this year. It wa s a great pleasure for us to engage in such an activity. During this year we had a representative of our class, Audrey Covington, to attend the N,H,A. National Convention in Prairie View, Texas and the U.N. Youth Conference, in New York. As Seniors, we regretfully realized that our high school days were nearly over, therefore we earnestly strove to leave a favorable and lasting impression. During this year Wilhelmina Nutter was elected Miss Salisbury High and attended the homecoming game at Morgan State College. Her attendants were Georgianna Polk, Marie Armstrong, and Shirley Everett. Now that we are about to end our high school days we wish to express our sincere gratitude to the prin- cipal and faculty, who have helped us to make another step toward success, We wish to extend our thanks to our schoolmates who have stood by us and aided us in all our undertakings. The kind acts and deeds of all who have assisted us will forever live in our memories, So now, the Class of 54 says, Farewell! A word that must be and hath been, a sound which makes us linger; --yet--farewell!
