E l0R CLASS HlS'I'0RY Looking back over our six years here at SEHS it seems like a long time, and yet lt seems so short. Our good times, our quarrels and our friendships are so intertwined that it is hard to distinguish one from the other. Thus time has passed without our being really conscious of its length. we entered SEHS for the first time in the term of '52-'53. we were nlittle seventh gradersn, and a variety of other names which the upperclassmen could think of for us. we were proud though, and as we expressed it then Wwas determined to show that we wasn't a bunch of dumbies.' we began our salesmanship at the school's annual Hallo- ween Frolic by sponsoring a Fish Pond. The next year we were more self-confident. we no longer got lost in the halls or in the wrong rooms. Our only means of income was still the Halloween Frolic, where we sponsored the Penny Pitch. This slightly increased our financial status. In '54-'55 we began our final struggle. we were 'greenlesn, Hfreshiesn, but we d1dn't mind because this was our last year of being little ukidsu. we were proud to have a new school building to finish our last years in school. Our visit to Fort Necessity and the Hagen Ice Cream Plant in Uniontown was the highlight of our freshman year. At the Halloween Frolic we sold candy and increased the amount in our treasury. At last the big year came. we were Sophomores, which meant that we would get our rings. That would prove to the world that we were now full-fledged members of the senior high school. At the Halloween Frolic we sponsored a cake-walk. The next term we were Juniors. We gave the seniors a banquet and prom. we had the responsibility of providing entertainment at the banquet. This was NThe Fantabulous Swamin and nThe Senior Garden of Eventsu. To raise funds we sold stationery, and sponsored a dance at the Halloween Frolic. This year we have realized our ambitions. we have reached the goal we set for ourselves six years ago. we have learned to take responsibility and handle it wisely. Our activity scale was larger than ever. we ordered our announcements, caps, and gowns. we sold Christmas cards, had several dances, sponsored a Food Basket at the Halloween Frolic, and put on our Senior Class Play, HTHE MAGIC TOUCHH
