FHUSH HEEEPTIU Opening social event of the season was the Freshman Reception. Dancing to the music of Herb Miller's orchestra, the student body and faculty also enjoyed refreshments and entertainment. Tony Mercante, newly-elected student body president, welcomed the new students in- his first speech of the year. The eve- ning's entertainment consisted of the skit of the barroom shooting of G'Dan- gerous Dan McGrew, with Holt Wood as HDan, and several numbers by Mar- vin Davis, Quartette from Bus 16. The dance was sponsored by the Social Ac- tivities Committee and was a big success leading to many more throughout the year. Q H
