When we think of the spirit of our school, we picture football rallies,ourfine cheering section and Rooters' Club, the band parad- ing,yell leaders and pom pom girls. We see our athletic teams playing with dash and fire. We see, feel, and respond to the ex- citement that surrounds these activities. This is school spirit, certainly. There is another type, however, a quieter type, but no less effective and no less valu- able. I refer to the pride a student takes in his school, the pride that forces a student to do his best in any situation-classroom, ath- letic, social, pride that shows itself in the appearance of a school and in the conduct of its students. School spirit is a combina- tion of many things, some more easily seen than others, but all necessary if true school spirit is to be found. Donald P.
