..., ,. ag, i I ' In Appreciation As WE, THE CLASS OF 1947, leave Salinas Union High School and go our separate ways into the world, we take with us a feeling of accomplishment and success, the valu- able gift of our class counselors. Mr. William Fisher took us under his Wing on our very first day at S.U.H.S., giving us our start as freshmen. He pulled us over the soph slump, and inspired us with an eagerness to learn and have fun. Miss Margaret Lea guided us through our junior and senior years, preparing us for the next big step, a job or college. To you, Miss Lea and Mr. Fisher, We give our utmost thanks in deep appreciation for all the help you have given us through four of the most important years of our lives. Your kind and understanding ways have won for you the greatest admiration and respect of the class of 1947. MISS MARGARET l,liA 3' E ,I 4, '4f,t - j1'0,. MR. WILLIAM FISHER

Senior Uffilzers OH, 'riui AGoNiEs of studentsll' came the cry of the seniors four years ago, and now, But haven't we had fun going through them! The thrill when that dreamed-of prom date came true, the nights we prayed for an assembly the same period as the linglish test, and the startling dis- covery it was time to be measured for caps and gowns - these incidents are now memories. XVe won't forget how Dixie Gregory and Jim W'ill- oughby enlivened our ln- stallation Program by their toe - wiggling interpreta- tion of Doin' What Comes Natcherlyf' and we are proud our officers started a new tradition, the free Farewell Dance for midterm graduates. Special mention goes to Dot Ottone, head yell leader, and her assistant, Betty Andalft, because that ever-present Ottone grin and Andalft vivacity at our games and rallies gave our rooting section added zest and spirit: and to Keith Verdier, who as chairman of the Senior Informal, turned out a riotous original show in his own in- imitable manner.
