Five understanding and energetic citizens are the elected members of the Board. Meeting i regularly on the second Monday of each month, these men, in their capacity as the policy-making body of the school, discuss and decide the issues vital to the smooth functioning of S.U.H.S. An appointed member of the board is its secretary, Superintendent R. D. Case. Mr. Case is a lifelong friend of every school student-in fact, he can remember many of our graduates when they were third- graders! ALBERT M. DAVIS NELSON B. SEWELL adminisiiaiion Salinas High School was privileged in having two principals this year! Although the students were sorry to see Principal Albert M. Davis go to Monterey, they are glad he has received this ad- vancement and is now able to serve even more people in his new position. The new principal, Mr. Nelson B. Sewell, was enthusias- tically greeted by the students because of their very pleasant as- sociations with him as a teacher, counselor, and Assistant-principal. il. XVILLIAM T. FISHER MARGARET LEA Serving as class counselors this year were Miss Margaret Lea, freshmen g Mr. Morris Kaplan, sophomores, Mr. W. T. Fisher, juniors, and Miss Gertrude Waterman, seniors. Mr. Kaplan and Miss Waterman also acted as Dean of Boys and Dean of Girls.
