E. student. Many of the students are employed by Salina business firms for a few hours each day. Twenty hours of work a week is required for the three hours credit each semester. Students in class are graded by their employers and the teacher. Through Distributive Education students acquire many necessary skills, information and attitudes which help them to do better merchandising. Approximately twenty students out of Salina High's graduating class will enter some phase of retailing or merchandising. The D. E. Club sponsors a student Store in the Distributive Education room. The store is open during the morning hours beginning at 8 a.m. There is a wide variety of school supplies available. The club members co-operate in tend- ing the store. One of the high lights of the year is the employer-employee banquet in which the students are hosts to their employers. The in- structor is Mr. Victor Klotz.
