Tbwfgtudevub COUILCJJ The Student Councll began thelr 3Cf1V1t16S the flrst two weeks 1n August by gettxng ads for the football programs The programs are the biggest 1n the state that are g1ven away free They have PICIUISS of the band cheerleaders football squad and d1fferent football boys 1n the dlfferent lssues A Get Together Dance was held 1n the gym Sept 3 at whlch new students were admltted free of charge COUHC11 members sold season football tlckets m the ma1n hall 1n the mormng and at the noon hour The Homecommg F GSUVICICS were a lughllght of the Councll s prosperous year Begm nlng on October 7 at 8 45 p m the bonflre was 11ghted and many cheers were g1ven wlule the Durango Demon burned Je an 1 e Coleman was announced as Homecomlng Queen who rode ' an m a convertlble wlth her attendants L IHIIICC Parker Ann Martm and Carolyn Cook through W the busmess d1SII1Ct Wlth the snake dance followmg Thxs ended at the Sallda Theatre where every student who had partlclpated 1n the Pep Rally was admltted to the show free of charge On October 8 at 4 45 p m the parade went through the downtown buslness d1SUl'lCt whlch conslsted of floats from classes organlzatlons and buslness houses That nlght the Sallda Spartans played the Durango Demons wlth the half tlme hemg taken up wlth the beautlful ceremony of the M crowmng of the queen jamce Parker and Jeame Coleman went to Fort Collxns to represent Sallda at the State Student Counc11 Conventlon from where they brought back many 1de3S about h1gh school 8Cf1V1t1eS and funcuons Mr Custer took a play Mr Mellen took Student Councll talent and Mr Jacobs took . . 1 I Y . ll VI ' I ' ' ' . , 'J nf . . . . . . . , . - .
