BY IDEHLS We feel it is no small distinction to have among us a l.faJor Su- perior of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in the person ot Father Philip Butler. No member of the Faculty is held in higher regard by the student body. lt was a complete surprise to us to learn that he occupied so hiah a rank in the hierarchy of the insti- tute, being a member ot the Gen- eral Council lor several years. While his rank is higher than that ot any other Oblate in the United States, he has not been above serving as head ot the Mathe- matics Department and the School Library. ln addition to these duties he served with distinction in the Armed Forces during World War ll.
