Mr. Ernest Casanave Mr. Ernest Casanave is a native of Lima. Peru He attended grammar school and college under the direction of the Salesian Fathers in Lima, Peru His first teaching experience was in his former high school where he taught mathematics, physical science and Latin for two years Soon afterwards, he came to the United States, and to Salesian High School Mr Casanave is in his tenth year as a teacher here at Salesian High School He is friendly, popular and well liked by all the students Mr. Casanave was named Mathematics Department Chairman in 1 967. and is currently completing advanced studies for his Master of Arts degree, at California State University at Los Angeles. 25

Mrs. Lucille Montgomery Lucille Lou Montgomery came to Salesian High School in 1964 Her first assignment at Salesian was as a secretary to the reading program Through her efforts, the reading levels of our students were advanced well above the national norms For ten years Mrs. Montgomery has been a shoulder to the administration, a helpful associate of the faculty, and a friend and mother to thousands of Salesian students We the students of Salesian dedicate this yearbook to Mrs Lucille Montgomery, our registrar, to show our appreciation for her dedication, understanding, patience and love to all of us students We are mindful of the thousands of freeway miles she has travelled through the years, and for the many things she has done for us that no one knows about but us. her students. 24
