Dedication Over the years, our school has been growing in pride and spirit, especially in the year 1970-1971. There are three men who have dedicated themselves to our school. They stand somewhat in the background and have at times been neglected. At this time, we the Etalon Staff would like to honor these men by dedicating Etalon ' 71 to Brother Tom Keegan S. D. B., Brother Rudy Bertagnolli S. D. B., and Father John Tkalec S. D. B.

You have reached a milestone in your life, one which unfortunately many young people in our city do not reach. You are now setting out on a journey into adult life. All these years you have been making preparations for this important journey: you have been stocking up supplies of information, enlightened attitudes, maturing experiences, and moral and religious values. Your journey on your own will be slow in starting, perhaps somewhat aimless, until you are sure of your itinerary. May your progress through life not be like that of Shake- speare ' s player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more . May it rather be like that of St. Paul who at the end of life can say, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith . As you leave Salesian, your last stop within the boundaries of your preparatory years, all of us members of the faculty wish you Godspeed. We are sad to see you part and yet happy that we have had our share, be it ever so small, in helping you shape your course homeward to the Father ' s house. With love and blessing, Fr. Roger N.
