CLASS HISTORY Back in the year 194-5, we arrived at Salem School to start our long journey upward. we started our first grade with ten members in our class. They were: Arden Mittermaier, Dennis Swartz, Robert Harris, David Hoepf, Paul Beach, Gaylon Rowe, Jessie Davidson, Patricia Kimmel, Carolyn Moore, and Marilyn Miller. Our teacher was Mrs. Veith. We came back our second year with the same teacher. Carolyn Moore left us. Those joining us were: Larry Dible and Margaret Gottfried. We came back for our third year with a new teacher, Miss Wagner, who during the year be- came Mrs, Strub. Those joining our class were: Robert Arnold and Nancy Atkins. In our fourth year of school our teacher was Miss Lang. We had the same members as the year before, Starting our fifth year, our teacher was Mrs. Vogel. Charles Hauff joined us. We came back our sixth year with the same teacher. those joining our class were: Lois Smith, Betty Lou Koehler, David Binua and Ronald Miller. Leaving us were Larry Dible and Nancy Atkins. Our first year upstairs in the seventh grade our class sponsor was Mr. Greenwald. Bob Arnold left us while David Van Horn, William Byrd and Robert Burton joined our class. We started our eighth year with the same sponsor, Those leaving were: David Van Horn and Robert Harris. Joining us was Jaunita Shearer. Our first year in High School was started with fifteen members in our class. The officers were: David Hoepf, President, Patil Beach, Vice-President: Margaret Gottfried, Secretaryg and Lois Smith, Treasurer. Those who left us were: Charles Hauff and Marilyn Miller. Joining us was June Shearer and Paul Summit. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Smith. Entering into the tenth grade our class sponsor was Mr. McGuire. For the officers we chose Margaret Gottfried, President, Dennis Swartz, Vice-President: Jessie Davidson, Secretaryg Lois Smith, Treasurer: and David Hoepf, News Reporter, Leaving us were: June Shearer, Patricia Kimmel, Robert Burton and William Byrd. Starting our eleventh year our sponsor was Mr. Kolar. Our officers were David Hoepf, Presidentg Lois Smith, Vice-Presidentg Dennis Swartz, Secretary: Jessie Davidson, Treasurerg and Paul Beach, News Reporter. Entering our twelfth and final year at SHS we had as our sponsor, Mr. Shull. For our officers we chose Arden Mittermaier, Presidentg Dorothy Dickey, Vice-Presidentg Paul Beach, Secretary, and Jessie Davidson, Treasurer. Leaving uswas Lois Smith. There were six of us who completed the full twelve years of school together. These were: David Hoepf, Dennis Swartz, Jessie David- son, Arden Mittermaier, Paul Beach and Gaylon Rowe.
