This is Bill's last year at Salem. Bill sprained his ankle in the semi finals at Bascom. Salem could always count on Bill for an excellent fioor game. Bill Weaver-Forward Bill scored over 74 per cent of his foul shots this Season. His shooting' average from the field of 42 per cent was also high for the Starters. This is also Bill,s last year. Bill will certain-ly be missed for his beautiful work under our own basket. Gene Binau--Center Gene played his second year of' Varsity Basketball and has one more year to play. Gene scored an even 200 points in his games and led the team in that depart- ment. Gene was noted for his faking and pivot work. Joe Logsdon-Guard Joe has played his last ye-ar for the Salem Cornhuskers and also his fourth year of basketball. Joe was at his best when he had a tall man to, guard. His final game was his best effort. 1 Bob Walter-Guard Bob was the work horse of the team and had much agwgressiveness in having' played in more quarters than any other boy on the team. His 41 per cent shooting' average is very excellent for a guard. Bob has one more year to play at Salem and should improve even more. Leo Swartz-Center Leo did not play a great deal in each game, but because of his competitive spirit and his. wholehearted support he was a very valuable man in bringing the rest of the team up to pre-game fitness. This is Leo's last years Ralph Orians-Forward Ralph led all our shooters in percentage of shots made from the field with 51 per cent. Ralph's best .game was in the county championship game. Next year, his last year, Ralph should prove to be a great help. Richard Shumaker-Guard This year has taken off a lot of rough edges on Dick's 'basketball playing. He should help- us out a whole lot next year. Dick, a junior, still has one more year to play- 2 .lim Stief-Forward Jim is probably the finest natural shooter on the team. Jim has one more Year to play. lllEth more work next year he should help Salem to another good year- llicliard Gottfried-Guard Dick will have one more year to play.. He was used in gllardfng' small fast men an the opponent's team and with another 5 inches on his height Dick should help Salem out quite a bit next year. Joan Weaver
